On The Road with Goody 2 Shoes

For the last 11 years, I have worked in the transportation business and have had the pleasure of meeting many wonderful people. Recently I had the opportunity to talk with 2 of my favorite drivers, Elaine & Warren, about life on the road with their dog! Talking about a family that makes things work, this is it and their story!

Tell me about Goody:
Our dog, Goody 2 Shoes is a mix breed. I am not sure what but he is a great little guy and very smart. We talk to him all the time and he understands hundreds of words and phrases.
We got Goody from Warren’s sister in August 2010. She was living near St Louis, MO at that time and had 3 other dogs and was looking to downsize. He had originally come from Texas.
He has changed our lives in a good way!  No more parking close to the truck stop, we now park in the back near the grass. Spending so much time in the truck doesn't allow for much exercise, however we now have a good reason to walk more.  And that’s a good thing when you spend all day (and night) on the road in a truck. These days we are only gone 4 days a week and Goody loves the adventure of being on the road in the truck. He knows when we are packing up to go on the road and gets so excited. And he gets just as excited when we get close to home! Lol 😂

Where does Goody like to stay in the truck:
Goody really enjoys the sleeper berth and that’s where he spends most of his time. If we are parked, he likes to go to the front and watch for people to bark at. He really enjoys barking and growling at anyone who comes near our truck.

Any funny stories that you'd like to share: I remember the first time I took him out in snow was somewhere in Colorado and he had no idea what snow was! He would not go pee! But he soon got used to it and now he just loves snow and runs around in it...so I think he might have some sled dog in his blood! 😂

How long have you been on the road:
Warren has been driving since the 70’s. I didn’t join him until 1999. Our daughter was all grown up and I was tired of being home alone so I got my CDL and joined Warren on the road.

A special thanks to Elaine, Warren & Goody for sharing their story! Remember, there is a story inside every truck that you see on the road.
